Powering the EU Green Deal: RECAIM, EU projects share AI Solutions for Resource Optimisation in AI-on-Demand webinar series

The Green Deal is a big deal for Europe, in both ambition and action.

As the EU’s strategy to combat Climate Change and reach climate neutrality by 2050, it calls not only for bold policies, but also innovative technologies.

That’s where Artificial Intelligence (AI) comes in. But how does one bring innovation to the market?

In their second webinar on “𝐀𝐈 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭” series, RECLAIM Project’s Fredy Raptopoulos from Robenso illuminated how our AI-powered portable robotic facility (prMRF) is enabling on-site waste recovery and supporting the transition to a circular economy on the remote Greek island of Kefalonia.

🔍 Other highlights included:
➡️A benchmarking guide for trustworthy AI (Andrea Borghesi, University of Bologna)
➡️AI-driven sustainability in manufacturing (Gianpietro Bontempi, ALCHIMIA Project)
➡️Smarter agriculture with AI (Erato Lazarou, Smart Droplets)

The webinar showcased how AI is delivering tangible impact across sectors—from manufacturing and agriculture to waste management.

Thanks to folks at AI-on-Demand Platform for consistently supporting projects like ours and others from the start.

Meanwhile, in June, RECLAIM participated with other Horizon Europe projects during the EU Green Week in Brussels to share knowledge of their project results. The event was organised under the umbrella of REACT Cluster, which stands for “Resource Efficiency and Automation for Circular Transformation”. The REACT Cluster consists of ALCHIMIA ProjectCLARUS Project, DARROW Project, RECLAIM ProjectGRINNER Project, iBot4CRMs, Wood2Wood Project, and Tubers project.
